Connecting to Cisco Virtual Wireless Controller Console within VM Workstation

Connect to your Cisco vWLAN via console within VM Workstation 9;

  1. Turn off your VM
  2. Go into the Settings of your VM
  3. Within the Hardware tab, Select Add. 
  4. Select Serial Port
  5. Click Create / Use a Named Pipe. 
    1. Make sure these are selected for the Named Pipe
    2. \\.\pipe\com_x (x being 1, 2, 3, 4, etc).
    3. This end is the server
    4. The other end is an application
  6. Save all changes and power on VM. 
  7. Open up Putty
    1. Click Serial
    2. Type in Named Pipe.
    3. Thats it - it should connect.

CUCM 11.5 - Esxi 6.5 - unable to create VM

Hi Guys Had an issue where I was unable to deploy a Cisco Unified Call Manager 11.5 OVA to the VMWare Esxi 6.5 standalone server. The following error would appear during the provision of the VM - "At least one extra disk image was provided that will be ignored". The solution to import the Cisco OVA into VMware is to use VMware's OVFTool.
